Change their Story 2013

Last year…our friends and family banded together to celebrate the birth of Jesus a little differently.…and we raised over $27,000 for the orphaned kids at our CarePoints in Uganda
And, once again, our friends and family will be

celebrating Christmas little differently this year!

In place of the hustle and bustle of gift buying and gift wrapping and gift getting, we are working to celebrate the Advent season by giving the gift of hope  and change to the Children at the Bukedea and Ogoloi CarePoints in Uganda (Africa).

As part of the Change their Story Campaign and in the heart of the Advent Conspiracy” movement, we are asking our friends and family to consider joining us in giving a gift to Jesus this Christmas.
After all…it is His birthday!
Jesus said (Mathew 25:31-46) that whenever we clothe, feed, and care for the hungry, poor and broken that we are doing so to Him. So this Christmas we are once again asking you to consider joining us in buying a small gift for the Reason for the season, Jesus.
Last year, the more than $27,000 we were able to raise provided hope and sustained change to the lives of the over 400 orphaned kids at the Ogoloi and Bukedea CarePoints in war-torn Uganda. this year, we are working to further that impact as we continue to conspire, and dream, and hope. We invite you to join us, as we work together to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas.

OGOLOI

We are raising $10,000 to complete the new Carepoint with a secure fence and a well for clean drinking water.
The Ogoloi CarePoint is a place of refuge for more than 150 orphaned children from the region. These children are provided daily meals, basic medical care, and the opportunity to attend school through the CarePoint and by a sponsorship of just $34 a month. These sponsorships provide hope and change to their lives.
The Ogoloi CarePoint moved to its newly constructed location earlier this year. The CarePoint is the pride of the small village, and is a refuge for locally abandoned kids and their caretakers. In order to secure the sites ongoing projects (chicken coops, crops, and feeding program) a fence will need to be constructed on the perimeter and a bore hole will need to be dug on site to provide a steady source of fresh drinking water for the kids. Your donation to this project is much needed and will make a huge difference in the CarePoints’ ability to serve these kids and become increasingly self sustained.

BUKEDEA

We are also raising $12,000 for the Bukedea CarePoint, to facilitate renovations to the current buildings, purchase additional land for cultivation, and secure the perimeter with a chain link fence
The Bukedea CarePoint is a place of refuge for more than 220 orphaned children from the region. These children are provided daily meals, basic medical care, and the opportunity to attend school through the CarePoint and by a sponsorship of just $34 a month. These sponsorships provide hope and change to their lives.
The Bukedea CarePoint has the ability to expand with a small plot of land adjacent to the project available for purchase. This land will allow for training of local farming and cultivation skills to the kids as well as a supplemental source of nutrition for the daily feeding program. Like Ogoloi, we desperately need to secure the site so as to provide a safe environment for kids, but also to secure the crops from grazing cattle and goats. We are also hoping to add bars to the exposed windows in the multi purpose building and make minor repairs to the buildings on site. Your donation will help to improve the CarePoint by making it more secure for the children.
