Welcome the Kids from Bukedea

We received the first of the Bukedea profiles today.

Just a handful of them, but it is certainly exciting to know that we are able to begin working to find sponsors for these kids just a couple of weeks before we leave for Uganda to go spend time with them.

Our last trip to Uganda was in June of this year, and we received the profiles for the Ogoloi kids in August. Its incredible that in that short amount of time that we have managed to find sponsors for more than 110 of these kids and we have only 4 remaining children in the Ogoloi CarePoint

THANKS SO MUCH to all of you that have sponsored a child.

You can check out those 4 remaining Ogoloi profiles at the Facebook Page
(I would like nothing more than to arrive in Uganda knowing that we have all 120 kids sponsored)

Bukedea CarePoint Kids

Bukedea is located in eastern Uganda about an hour and a half’s drive from Ogoloi, and is home to over 200 single or double orphans. Many of these children in Bukedea live in households where the primary caregiver is another child. Their lives are dominated by survival with little time to be children and focus on schooling because of a number of factors, a few of them being famine, cattle raiders and threats from the LRA (Lord’s Resistance Army).
The Children of the Nile Ministry, through the Teso Widows Project, has worked to provide for the widows and orphans in Bukedea, but they have little to no resources. Children’s HopeChest has partnered with the Teso Widows to provide the resources through church partnerships. Your sponsorship provides HOPE for the entire village.

Here are a few of the newest profiles. We have about 225 of these on the way, and have about 30 of these children currently sponsored.
