Survive. Thrive. Succeed.
Our survive, thrive, succeed model of long term sustainable development of the Bukedea, Ogoloi, and Ongongoja CarePoints ensures the vulnerable children in our program and their surrounding communities are the recipients of hope and love, and empowered to be the agents of change for Uganda’s future generations. Orphans of Teso proudly partners with Children’s HopeChest to provide holistic, faith-based care to several hundred orphaned children in the war torn Teso region of Uganda.
THE MISSION
Orphans of Teso’s goal is to empower each community, starting with the students in our sponsorship program and trickling into every household to survive, thrive, and succeed on their own. In addition to sponsorship fees, each CarePoint has started many projects that generate income and provide education and training to the students and community.
These projects have been funded by our yearly Change Their Story Campaigns. These include growing crops, liquid soap making, baking, pig rearing, goat rearing, tailoring, carpentry, and others. Each year projects are selected based on their ability to empower families to generate income to support their own needs.
CAREPOINTS IN UGANDA
Children visit the CarePoint for their daily meals during the week and go for discipleship, games and skills training on Saturdays. As children progress in school our goal is to send them to boarding school where they live and receive their meals.
Each CarePoint has Ugandan staff and volunteers that run the operations. They have trained social workers, cooks, guards and a locally elected management committee of volunteers from the community. These amazing individuals run the day to day operations and ensure the children are being cared properly.

Bukedea
Bukedea is thriving with a flourishing tailoring school, workshop, and bakery. All of which generate income for the community to reinvest.
